Do you want to be at the center of events where economic issues meet Swedish and international defense and security policy? Here is an opportunity to contribute to Sweden's security and defense! You will play an important role in developing and supporting the Ministry of Defence's work with economic analysis and budget work. You will be part of a team that coordinates the department's budget work and other cross-departmental processes. Together with your colleagues, you will support the units with quality assurance and a holistic perspective.

In this role, you will identify needs for and conduct economic analyses as well as impact assessments within the defense and security policy area. You will support the development and management of methods and approaches that ensure high quality in economic analyses and assessments within the Ministry of Defence. The work involves producing well-founded decision-making materials for the political leadership and contributing to the secretariat's staff tasks through assessment and coordination of economic governance. As expert support, you will be an important resource for competence development in economic issues and help strengthen the economic analytical capacity within the department.
An important part of the assignment is to continuously monitor and analyze national and international conditions that affect the economic prerequisites for defense and security policy. The role involves many points of contact, both with colleagues within the department and the political leadership, as well as with corresponding functions in other departments, the Ministry of Finance's budget department, and other relevant actors.

Your background
We are looking for someone with an academic background in a relevant field, such as economics, political science, or other equivalent education. You have experience working in public administration, preferably at a Swedish authority, or other qualified work with socio-economic analysis. Experience with the state budget process and governance of public administration is important, as well as a very good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
It is an advantage if you have a master's degree or equivalent and experience and knowledge in defense and security policy, NATO, or the EU and its institutions.

The employment is permanent with a six-month probationary period. The position is classified in a security class and a security review with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
